Rummel Selected As Scholarship Recipient

Sage Rummel of Leyton High School is the recipient of the Cheyenne County Family and Community Education (FCE) College Scholarship for the 2020-2021 school year. Sage is the daughter of Floyd and Rhonda Rummel

The mission of the National Association for Family and Community Education is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through continuing education, leadership development, and community service.

The Cheyenne County FCE organization awards one college scholarship each year to a resident of the county or the graduate of a county high school who plans to major in a human science related field.

Sage plans to attend Western Nebraska Community and major in nursing. As a Leyton High School student, she earned many honors and participated in extra-curricular activities including:

• FFA – President, Secretary, Greenhand Degree Recipient, Chapter Degree Recipient, State Degree

• Volleyball, Basketball

• Letterman’s Club

• Student Council – Class Representative & Treasurer

• A & B Honor Roll

• Choir & Show Choir

• 8 Year 4-H Member

• Salem Lutheran Church Communicant Member – Youth Group & VBS Volunteer
