Leyton's Warriors Roll Through Week

Leyton's Warrior Boys Basketball team kept up the momentum and won three games over the week to move their record to 13-and-2.

The Warriors started on Tuesday hosting Banner County, and the Wildcats stood no chance, going down 33-to-4 at the half. Leyton kept up the pressure until the running clock was enabled, then cruised the rest of the way and picked up the 62-to-12 victory. Junior Dillon Juelfs led the scoring with 14 points in the victory.

On Friday the Warriors traveled to Minatare, and a relatively close game in the first quarter that had Leyton up 18-to-12 turned into a blowout by the end of the second quarter. Leyton put up 22 points against Minatare's nine, and built a 40-to-21 lead at the half. A close third quarter was followed by a big fourth quarter for Leyton, and the Warriors took the victory by a final score of 83-to-48. Juelfs again led the scoring with 26 points in the win.

The Warriors traveled on Saturday to match up against the Peetz Bulldogs, and built a good lead after the first period. Leyton kept up the momentum while keeping the Peetz scoring to a minimum, and led at the half 36-to-19.

Peetz never threatened in the second half, and Leyton went on to take the victory, 66-to-37. Juelfs again led the scoring with 19 points, followed by junior Justin Ernest with 18 points in the win. The Warriors were scheduled to travel and match up against Sedgwick County on Tuesday.
