Creek Valley Competes At Chadron Open

Chadron State College hosted the annual CSC HS Open Meet on Saturday, and the Creek Valley Storm Track and Field team traveled north to compete. Eleven teams from the panhandle and Wyoming competed, and Creek Valley had several athletes with outstanding results and brought home medals.

Creek Valley sophomore Samantha Marin placed fourth in the 1600 meters with a time of 6:50.45.

Creek Valley's girl's 4x400 Relay team of Karsyn Burgman, Elizabeth Whiting, Chaeli Polk and Ella Whiting placed fourth with a time of 5:15.93.

For the boys, senior Lucas Trujillo won the 800 Meters with a time of 2:17.23. Senior Alex Caraveo placed sixth in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:20.34. Sophomore Michael Lutz placed second in the 3200 Meters with a time of 12:27.32. The 4x400 Meter Relay team of Alex Caraveo, Hunter Martinez, Lucas Trujillo and Michael Lutz placed sixth with a time of 4:11.26.

The Storm is next scheduled to compete at the John Ganser Invite at Sidney High School on Saturday.
