Mary Dell (Gilmore) Conger-Bowers

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Mary Dell (Gilmore) Conger-Bowers, of Sidney, NE passed away at age 87 at her home on March 15, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8th, at Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney, NE with Pastor Corey Jenkins from United Methodist Church officiating. Reception will follow at the Gehrig-Stitt Event Center. Services will be recorded and available on Gehrig-Stitt’s website for viewing. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-6:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place; inurnment will take place at a later date.

Mary Dell (Gilmore) Conger-Bowers was born on January 10, 1935, in Ottawa, KS to Cecil Jennings Gilmore and Laura Ruth (Jones) Gilmore. She attended Ottawa High School, graduating in 1953. Mary Dell married Daryl Gene Conger in March of 1954. They raised three children, living in Sidney, NE. Mary Dell worked for the FBI, Heaton Law Office, Cheyenne County Court as a Transcriber and Cheyenne County District Court.

Mary Dell is survived by her brothers Jessie R. Gilmore and Cecil Jr. Gilmore and sister Ruth (Gilmore) Shaw; children Denise Diann (Conger) Shiffermiller of Omaha, NE; Randall Gene Conger of Sidney, NE; and Ronald Alan Conger of Sidney, NE; grandchildren Cassi (Shiffermiller) Wigington of Omaha, NE, Chelsy (Shiffermiller) Binkley of Lincoln, NE, Caylen Shiffermiller of Omaha, NE, and Nicholas Conger of Sidney, NE; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Laura Phillips, and brother Max Gilmore.
