Kailey Nicklas Heading to Girls State


Kailey Nicklas of the Potter-Dix High School has been selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls State June 5-11, 2022, on the campus of the University of Nebraska.

Kailey was selected based on selection criteria through the Potter Auxiliary Unit 291. Kailey will study local, county and state government process in this nonpartisan political learning experience.

Kailey is active in volleyball, basketball and Future Farmers of America. She is a class officer a member of the Quiz Bowl and the National Honor Society.

At Girls State Kailey will receive special instruction in parliamentary procedure and be selected to one of the two mythical political parties and campaign for a city, county or state office.

Potter organizations helping the Auxiliary financial are Clara Barton Tent 29 of The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865; the Social Neighbors Club and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
