Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On

Week 20

Humility plus honor welds our hearts together with God’s heart so that, fearfully, we honor and worship Him in spirit and in truth. “In the fear of the Lord there is confidence and His children will have a place of refuge.

The fear (reverence) of the Lord is a fountain of life to turn one away from the snares of death.” Proverbs 14:26, 27 “God is good and His mercy (covenant) endures forever!” Psalm 136.

Father God changes NOT!

God’s recipe for manna still lives!  A spiritual phenomenon occurs at the point humility meets honesty, just as dew forms when temperature and humidity are perfectly partnered.  “Behold how good and pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity.  It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountain of Zion; for the Lord commanded the blessing, there - life forevermore.” Psalm 133.

Such refreshing to God’s people is present and on-going.  He watches as we work out the path of our lives with fear (reverence) and trembling (steps of faith that only God can back up).  He assures that we always fall forward, never failing. The Apostle Paul explains it this way: “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed for we have a treasure in this earthen vessel: the excellence and power of God, not of ourselves.”  II Corinthians 4:8, 9, 7

Friends, stand assured “the gates of Hades shall not prevail over My Church (Ecclesia, Ruling Body).” Matthew 16:18.   Honor (reverence and highly esteem) those who held freedom so precious for us, that they gave their lives in every battle for truth.

Our forebears looked, with Spirit eyes and seasoned souls, to the future of a nation whose children would live in a time they could not begin to fathom. Yet, their fervor was for our wellbeing, prosperity, increase and pursuit of happiness; never to be sullied by any regime or ideology that could hinder our living in a land under God, indivisible, blessed with liberty and justice for all men.

The American Dream is founded on Biblical principles, which is why it is power-filled, exceptional, and sought after.  Among the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence are ministers, founders of Christian colleges, Bible Societies and public education.  By a unanimous vote of Congress, the first book published by the United States government was a Bible, to be used as a text book for future generations.  Our Founders realized that educating women and children would keep this nation free.  Church services graced the Senate chambers for 150 years!

Our ‘inalienable rights’ are so precious that the Bill of Rights is written with them.  May we ever honor and remember these strong, courageous Patriots of Faith with thanksgiving. “The Name (authority) of the Lord is a strong tower.  The righteous run into it and they are safe.”  Proverbs 18:10

Next Week: Home Run!
