Tanquary Takes Fourth At UNK High School Invite

Sidney's Cross Country teams traveled on Monday to Kearney for the UNK High School Invitational.

The event attracts the very best teams from around the state, and Sidney junior Talissa Tanquary continued her excellent season with a fourth place finish at 20:34.3 in the C Class event. Other Sidney finishers included senior Rheo Dykstra with a 44th place finish at 22:56.5, junior Jenju Peters with a 105th place finish at 25:21.6, junior Alayna Wiegand with a 112th place finish at 25:30.8, junior Brooklyn Brandt with a 130th place finish at 26:12.3 and freshman Kyah Hicks in 140th place with a 26:39.0 finish.

For the boys, sophomore Jashawn Davenport finished in 58th place with a time of 19:03.9 followed by sophomore Noah Canas in 88th place at 19:33.8. Junior Brendan Shepard finished 138th at 20:22.5 and senior Micah Schneider finished in 165th place at 20:53.6. Sophomore Robert Stevens finished in 168th place at 20:56.7, junior John Meza finished in 182nd place at 21:13.3 and senior Ben Colerick finished in 249th place at 23:15.3.

Sidney next travels to Scottsbluff on Friday for the Bearcat Cross Country Festival at Scottsbluff Country Club.
