Jo was born on February 27, 1946, the second daughter of Fred and Dorothy (Gade) Meick. She was raised in Sidney and had many great adventures in her life. The most important was her role as a loving wife and mother. She rode motorcycles with her husband, Ron, traveled the country and did some drag racing with him, making lots of lovely memories and friends along the way. Jo sold vehicles, managed Draper Photography Studio, and worked at Cabela’s where she retired after 27 years of service. Many there affectionately called her “Momma Jo”.

Jo married Ron Hardy on November 25, 1978. From this union they combined two families into one. Family get-togethers were held as often as possible with lots of food, games, laughter and photos (much to the dismay of many). After retiring, as much time as possible was spent camping at Van’s Campground at Lake McConaughy where friends and family gathered. Jo touched many lives. Family was very important to her and she considered close friends as such. Her grandchildren were of great importance to her and she spent as much time as possible at their events. Jo always had a dog sharing her side of the bed.

Jo is survived by her loving husband, Ron of Sidney; children Tim Oliverius of Sidney, Gina Elgert and husband Jake of Savannah, MO, Rona Blattie and husband Tim of Billings, MT and Wade Hardy of Sidney; grandchildren Katie and Ryan Wieser of Wichita, KS, Jolene Oliverius of Charleston, SC, Zach Elgert and Maggie Elgert of Savannah, MO, Matt Schlueter of Ballantine, MT; brother Tom Meick and wife Jane of Sidney; great-grandchildren Jaycee and Ethan Schlueter of Ballantine, MT and Granger Wieser of Wichita, KS; Brother-in-law Mike Hardy and wife Barb Hardy Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Fred Meick; in-laws Sally (Jones) and Victor “Skeet” Hardy; grandsons Justin Schlueter and Ethan Elgert; sister Marcy Folkerts and husband Bill; sister-in-law Anita Koones and husband Bobbie.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Special thanks to all my special friends, Minna Sims and the Dorwart Cancer Center.”

Please plan on celebrating Jo’s life after the service with “I remember when…”
