Sharon was born on December 28th, 1946 in Sidney, NE to Earl and Grace Cruise. Sharon grew up in Sidney, NE and was the eldest of her siblings.  She graduated from Sidney High School in 1965 and then continued her post-secondary education in business.

On August 6, 1969 Sharon was united in marriage to Larry Borges of Dalton. Together they made their home at the family farm east of Dalton where they raised their 2 sons, Darin and Brad.

After her children were school aged, Sharon decided to get back into the work force and worked for Cabela's for 31 years until retiring in 2012.

In retirement, Sharon enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going to all of their activities. She also enjoyed a good game of Dominoes or a heated game of pitch with the family. The Grandkids knew if Grandma got the bid in pitch, that she had a "shoot the moon" hand.  Grandma didn't bid very often but she was a great partner.

Survivors include her sons Darin Borges of Dalton and Brad and wife Mindy Borges of North Platte; sister Diane Borges of Dalton; brother Mark Cruise of Dalton; Sister in-law Cheryl Borges of Dalton; grandchildren Leslie Borges of Lincoln and Nicholas and Lukas Borges of North Platte; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Larry Borges, parents Earl and Grace Cruise, her mother in-law Helen Borges, and brothers-in-law John Borges and Bill Borges.
