Storm Comes Up Empty Over Week

Creek Valley's Storm Boys Basketball team continued their struggle for wins this season, dropping three more contests over the week to fall to 2-and-11 on the year.

Creek Valley hosted Sutherland on January 24, and had a close battle with the Sailors. Although they stayed within striking distance for most of the game, the Storm could not put together a run in the second half to close the gap and vie for a win. With the Sailors coming into the contest winless, the Storm defense missed a great opportunity to for a victory in this game. Creek Valley fell by a final of 50-to-35 and senior Seth Wilber led the scoring with 19 points, with the defense unable to stop the Sailors' relatively weak offense.

Creek Valley then hosted a very tough Garden County squad on Friday, and immediately fell behind as the Eagles launched a 25 point first quarter offensive explosion, then cruised to a 41-to-15 halftime lead. The Eagles' defense smothered the Storm in the second half, only giving up 1 point in the third quarter and 5 points in the fourth on their way to a 70-to-21 win. Wilber again led the scoring with 8 points in the loss for Creek Valley.

The Storm traveled to Colorado on Saturday, matching up against the Holyoke Dragons, and again found themselves behind early and unable to make up ground against the tough Dragons defense. Holyoke cruised to a 72-to-34 victory without being challenged. Wilber again led the Storm's scorers with 16 points in the loss. Creek Valley travels to Minatare to hopefully pick up a win against the 1-and-13 Indians on Thursday.
