Pastor Bill Gothard produced the book "The Power for True Success, How to Build Character in Your Life"; 12th printing 2001, published by Institute of Basic Life Principles, PO Box One, Oak Brook, Illinois 60522-3001, iblip.org. It is a synopsis of Bill's career which started at age 15, seeking solutions for wayward classmates. It is based on attributes of Holy Spirit as defined in Galatians 5:22, 23

Nancy Rice, Kimray's HR Director, at the time, is portrayed by Nola for lack of information about Nancy's part in developing the curriculum. Homer and Emma portray families and associates who acted as a catalyst, praying and supporting Tom Hill, his family and Kimray's workforce.

Character First gained the attention of OK City Police Dept. where Jesus' Name was removed, due to city policies. Later, OK City schools removed reference to God, in compliance with government regulations. HOWEVER, Holy Spirit cannot be removed from the heart, or cultural morals which arise from it.
