Maxine D. Wilson

Maxine Dee Wilson, age 92, formerly of Sidney, NE passed away peacefully at the Goshen Healthcare Community in Torrington, WY on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney, NE. Funeral Services will also be on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Eisenhour Funeral Home in Midwest City, OK. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Jones, OK. Local services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1-6:00 P.M. to leave condolences for the family.

Maxine Dee Wilson was born on December 8, 1930, in Sidney, NE to Ray and Alice George Knapp

Maxine was a graduate of Sunol High in Sunol, NE. After graduation, she worked as the Colonel's secretary for the Sioux Army Depot. Then at a very young age, the Lord called her into ministry, where she spent the next 63 years ministering God's word. Maxine's ministry began at the Full Gospel Church in Sidney. She later pastored the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Longmont, CO. While living in Colorado, her passion for flying grew. She later acquired her pilot license. After marrying Charles (Charlie) Wilson, Maxine founded the Life and Restoration Church in Jones, OK, where she ministered for over 30 years. 

In 2018 Maxine moved back to Sidney, NE, to be closer to family.

Maxine loved spending time with her family and traveling, taking many trips together. She was fortunate to have visited many places while making many fond memories. 

She is survived by her sister Shirley Henkle of Texas, brother Ronnie Knapp, and his wife, Lorraine of Sidney, children Carol Arellano and husband Floyd of Sidney, NE, Daniel Henkle of Longmont, CO, and son-in-law Gary Yarbrough of Jones, OK, four grandchildren, Steven Yarbrough and Stacey Yarbrough, both of Oklahoma City, OK, Calvin and his wife, Rebecca Arellano of Van Meter, IA. Travis and his wife, Shaton Arellano of Sidney, NE, great grandchildren Trey Arellano of Sidney, NE, and Quinn and Isabella Arellano of Van Meter, IA, and many nieces and nephews. 

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Donna Sanford Sidney, NE; a brother, Kenneth Knapp, Loveland, CO; and husband, Charles Wilson of Jones, OK, Maxine's daughter Paulette Yarbrough of Jones, OK, son David Henkle of Sidney, and an infant son Marvin Henkle.   

Memorials may be given to Cheyenne County Community Center Meals on Wheels Senior meals in Sidney, Nebraska. 

Her greatest desire was that all would know the ways of the Lord and walk closely to him daily.
