Trudy was born to Don and Margaret Young on January 7, 1945, in Dalton, NE. She graduated from Gurley High school with honors in 1962. She attended The University of Wyoming with a BS in Nursing. As a registered nurse, she took care of people for 43 years. She had many talents. She earned her personal pilot's license, and we have great memories taking flights with her. She was a member of the civil air patrol. She was also a talented musician. She played alto sax, accordion, and played the piano and organ including playing accompaniment for most church services.

Growing up on a farm, she was able to operate an array of farm vehicles. She was a weekend mechanic and was knowledgeable on various do it yourself projects.

She had several hobbies including cake decorating, sewing, and repairing electronics. She was a regular member of a women's bible study and sewing circle. She sewed her own wedding dress when she later married Robert Ketteler of Dalton on April 4, 1983. She was a long-time member of the Lions Club, sewed things for people like a supply bag for wheelchairs and sewed and distributed tons of masks for people to wear during Covid. She loved square dancing. She was a wonderful mom, friend, & colleague. She stayed connected with so many people. She attended a class reunion every year they had one. She was loved and will be dearly missed. I surmise her greeting in heaven was "welcome good and faithful servant".

She is survived by her son Walter Halle and wife Julie, her daughter, Kimberly Broomfield. Nine grandchildren: Jeff Halle and wife Shauna, Cody Halle and partner Jon, Brittney Hirt and husband John, Matthew Ellis and wife Miah, Joshua Ellis and wife Forest, Brady Ellis and wife Celine, Joshua Broomfield, Nathan Broomfield, and Jenna Broomfield, four great-grandchildren (Skylar, Gracie, John, & Oliver) She has loving cousins that held her hand and visited with her in her final hours.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Robert Ketteler, her parents, Don and Margaret Young, stepmom Marguerite Young, her brothers David Young & Monte Young, her aunts, Esther Young & Hazel Young, her uncle Harold Young and her grandparents Laura and George Young.
