Beier, Dillehay Qualify For State Golf Tournament

Tuesday Tee-Off At Monument Shadows GC

Sidney's Red Raider Boys Golf team finished off their regular season schedule at the District B-4 Tournament at Hillside Golf Course on Tuesday, May 16th, after wet weather pushed back the tournament from its originally scheduled date on Monday.

The very best of the district descended upon Sidney for the tournament, and at the end of the competition, two Red Raider golfers qualified for the State Tournament this week. Seniors John Beier and Jaeden Dillehay both had a 9 over par round, and their scores of 81 were good enough to qualify for the State competition. Cole Hanley finished with a +17 for 27th place, John Meza finished +20 and placed 31st and Logan Johnson ended +22, in 33rd place. The NSAA Class B Tournament will be held at Monument Shadows GC in Gering on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Dillehay will be the first to tee-off at 9 a.m. on the first tee.

Besides top Panhandle golfers like Ogallala's Caleb Castillo, Scottsbluff's Thomas Dredla and Alliance's Taytom Timbers, Beier and Dillehay will also have to compete against outstanding golfers like freshman sensation Jaxson Hinze of Norris, who qualified with a round of 67, and Carson Thurber of Norris who qualified with a 70. There are also a good group of golfers that qualified with scores in the low 70s that will be tough competition for the Sidney duffers.
