Robert James Teague Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert James Teague, Jr on June 28th, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Rob was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished poppy. After 26 months Rob won his fight with Gliobastoma Multiforme IV and moved on to his eternal life cancer free.

Born on October 20, 1961, in Chappell, NE, to Robert James (Bob) & Betty Lou (Langley) Teague. Rob was raised in El Paso, TX, where he graduated from Andress High School and Central Texas College, in Killeen, TX.

Rob is survived by his wife Sonja, his children, Mandy Allen(Johnathan), Heather Capps(Trevor), Robert Teague III(Stephanie), Kelsie Dunaway(Antronn), and stepson Amos Johnson III, 12 grandchildren, who lovingly called him Poppy

Also surviving him, his father, Robert J Teague, his siblings, Toni Bruns(Jon), Tami Bevis(Randy), Scott Teague(Barbara), Father-in-law Jim Taylor, sisters-in-law Jackie Quon(Ken), Cami Brock, Maralee Taylor, brothers-in-law Jimmy Taylor(Tracie), Mike Taylor, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rob was preceded in death, by his mom and best friend, Betty Teague, his children Heather and Ryan Teague, his granddaughter Kinsley Sue Allen, brother-in-law James Taylor, mother-in-law Sandra Taylor, and nephew Joseph Teague.

Although Rob is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, resilience, humor and selflessness will endure, serving as a reminder of the incredible person he was. Rob made a significant impact on all that knew him. He was known for his kind heart, offering a helping hand to anyone in need.

He loved the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed being a practical joker, driving RC cars, Mexican food, and a good steak specifically Texas Roadhouse.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Monday, July 3rd, 2023 at 11 am at Eighth Ave. Baptist Church located at 2128 8th Ave in Terre Haute, IN with Pastor Johnathon W Allen presiding. Family and friends are invited to gather together to honor and remember this remarkable man. A meal provided by the EABC deaconesses will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations can be made to Elara Caring Hospice Foundation who so graciously cared for Rob or to the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Delta Theta Tau who sponsors the Head for the Cure run in his honor each year. A very special Thank you to our Elara Hospice nurse Michelle Eslinger and CNA Kyla Sylvester who were absolutely amazing and helped to keep Rob pain free.
