Sidney Public Schools announced summer learning eclipsed 1,000 sessions

SIDNEY – Sidney Public Schools (SPS) announced its Expedition Summer Learning, which is still underway, eclipsed 1,000 sessions done by students.

“Remember, students at Sidney Public Schools still have access to our online learning platform Freckle and can use it over the summer to keep academically sharp and get a leg up on next year,” SPS announced in a Facebook post.

Freckle tracks and keeps students' progress from the school year so they can continue on through the summer months where they left off at the end of the school year.

“Prizes start at just 20 sessions with a free Runza ice cream cone,” SPS stated. “Students earn a free slice of pizza from Sam and Louie's at 50 sessions and then the top 3 students in each grade level will win a free bowling game from Cedar Lanes.”

The district also announced prize winners and leaderboard:

Kindergarten: Runza ice cream went to Zella Schoening;

Kindergarten: Sam and Louie's Pizza went to Blake Plummer and Dahlia Headley-Nelson;
