Regional West announces closure of two family clinics, one in Sidney

SIDNEY – In a press release from Regional West, the health care system announced the closure of two family medicine clinics, one of which is in Sidney and the other in Chappell.

“In working toward the goal of realigning the health system's core services, Regional West will close the family medicine clinics in Chappell and Sidney, Nebraska, effective Sept. 21, 2023,” the press release sent by Regional West Director Julie Franklin stated.

Adding, “Healthcare providers in Sidney and Chappell are available to treat patients for at least the next 30 days. Patients are encouraged to visit with their provider or a clinic employee regarding the specific date their provider will no longer schedule future visits.”

Regional West stated family medicine providers in the healthcare system in Scottsbluff and Gering are available to assume patient care and those interested in continuing care with Regional West are asked to call 308-630-2100.

“If preferred, patients can contact their medical plan or health insurance company for a list of area physicians,” the press release continued. “They may also contact the local medical society – or the physician referral service at the hospital of their choice – for names of nearby physicians.”

Additionally, the healthcare provider said residents seeking care elsewhere, upon receiving written authorization, could have Regional West forward a copy of their medical records to their new physician.

“After the Sidney and Chappell clinics close, patients can request a copy of their records by contacting Regional West Physicians Clinic, ATTN: Health Information Management, 401 Ave. B, Scottsbluff, Nebraska 69361, or by calling 308-630-1109,” the press released stated.
