PVFD Golf Tournament Big Success at Prairie Pines

The 2023 PVFD Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament was held August 12, 2023 at the Prairie Pines Golf Course in Potter. This is a seven hole golf course, where each team goes around twice, making it 14 holes, with par being 52. Nineteen teams in all participated this year, and resulted in having three flights.

In the championship flight, the team of Trent Rudledge, with Nate, Dan, and Emily won with a score of 44. Second place was awarded to the team of Lane Juelfs, with Mike, Kenzey and Mike scoring 46, and coming in third was the team of Aaron Godfrey with Barry, Don, and Ryan with a score of 47.

In the second flight, first place went to the team of Andrew Bohac with Bill, Rob, and Jordan with a score of 47, coming in second was the team of Dave Haack with Jerry, Gary, and Bob with a score of 50. With a final score of 50 and 3rd place was the team of Danny Wieser, Ken Roelle, Lance and Shane Roelle.

The third flight was won by Ricky Kizzair, Trish and Joel Crossman, and Jeff Paxton with a score of 54. Second place was the team of Todd and Tammy Gasseling, and Landon and Keegan Gasseling with a score of 55, and third was the team of Jazlyn, Conner, Joelle, and Thomas with a score of 57.

We were very fortunate to have 20 'hole sponsors' who graciously donated cash to the tournament. Hole sponsors include Curley's Machine Works Inc, M & S Drilling, Western Drug, Landtec LLC, Sunset Land & Cattle Company, Scoular Grain, Delbert Ewaldt, Potter State Bank, E & S Auto Supply, Heidemann & Son Trucking, High West Energy, Borer Pipe and Fabrication, Kimball Auto Parts, Bags Bar, Kasten Truck Line, Fry Tek, Terri Coomer & Patty Harsch, Gehrig-Stitt, Monument & Funeral Planning, and Pins N Needles, plus a few donors that wish to remain anonymous. 

Items were donated to be used as flag prizes, and those donors include Roods Tire, Clever Tees, Triple O's, Finney's, Western Drug, Kahla Mathewson - in memory of Beau, 308 Farmer-Kevin Frei, M+L Creative-Kayla Gasseling, and KRS Custom Tumblers & More-Kim Sonnie.

Winner's of these fine prizes were Kayla Gasseling, Regan Biesecker, Jeremy Gasseling, Andrew Rodewald (2), LB Shepard, Nate Faulkner, Bob Wistrom, Don Moench, Renee Thomas, Trish Crossman, Ray Smith, Landon Gasseling (2), Thomas Muldoon, and D L Christensen.

The PVFD would like to say a big THANK YOU to all who participated and/or donated in any way. The Proceeds of the tournament will be used to purchase items and supplies needed that aren't covered under the normal budget of the Fire Department.
