Local Audio provider 28 years in Sidney, and still amplifying great service

SIDNEY- Allan Lundgren grew up in Bayard (NE), moving to Sidney in 1995 to open Budget Tapes and Music. That was 28 years ago, and he is still going strong. "I opened it for the love of music. I saved up my money to open up a music store while I was working at the dealership. We don't sell new music at all, I sell some old music but basically we do audio sales and installation. We install in in cars, boats, golf carts, trucks, semis, anything that takes a stereo. I even did a hot tub one time," Lundgren joked.

"It's kind of steady, just like any business, you have your good months and your slower months, kind of up and down. It's not a gold mine," he said between laughs.

"Stereos are a want or a need, one or the other. You want to make it better, or you need to make it better."

Budget Tapes and Music is located at 1046 Toledo Street in Sidney, and is open Tuesday through Saturday, closed on Sunday and Monday.
