Lady Warriors Stay Undefeated

Reel Off Five Wins Over Week

DALTON--Leyton's Lady Warrior Volleyball team is showing that they're the class of D2 Volleyball in the Panhandle, and after five wins over the week brought their record to 8-and-0, the Lady Warriors are now ranked #8 in the state for D2 teams.

On Thursday, September 7, the Lady Warriors hosted a triangular with Banner County and Hemingford, and first breezed through the Lady Wildcats 25-to-10, 25-to-10. They next matched up against the Lady Bobcats, and again won in straight sets, 25-to-19 and 25-to-18. On Saturday, they traveled to Garden County for tournament action, and first up was their match against South Platte. Leyton had little trouble taking the straight set victory, 25-to-12 and 25-to-16. Next was Creek Valley, and again the Lady Warriors had little trouble in a straight-set win, 25-to-18, 25-to-13. Finally, the Lady Warriors matched up against host Garden County, and again won in straight sets, 25-to-11 and 25-to-19. The Lady Warriors went 5-and-0 on the week, and did not lose a set.

The Lady Warriors' strong play has earned them a D2 top-10 ranking. They have two matches that could be challenging coming up, the first on Friday against Anselmo-Merna in Merna, then on Saturday they travel to Bayard for a match against the undefeated Lady Tigers.
