Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On: Week 41

“When wisdom enters your heart and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion (judging justly and reasoning rightly with a touch of class) will preserve you. Understanding will keep you and deliver you [from evil] so you may walk in the way of goodness and righteousness.” Proverbs 2:10-20

Fear of torment is not something to manage. It must be refused! Such ‘spiritual warfare’ allows reverence of God to rule. One who imitates God as a dear child is dangerous to the wiles of the devil Ephesians 5:1. In every prayer, we come against spiritual wickedness. Reaching a hand to teach, preach or heal and help in painful circumstances, sends the devil and his minions running terrified, from us (they flee!) “Does not wisdom cry out and understanding lift up her voice? The fear (honor) of the Lord is to hate evil, pride and arrogance.” Proverbs 8

The United States Navy sought answers to why so many precious lives of highly trained and essential personnel died as helicopters crashed into water. Survivors were interviewed in great detail. Resulting practices were developed for Officers Candidate School where enduring hardness is vital beyond essential. The Helo Dunker takes place in a giant, and deep, pool facility as alert medics stand by.

Five or six trainees, wearing 40 pounds of gear, are placed in the helicopter mock up. Instruction for the first dunk is, “Wait until all motion stops so that you are not hit by rotating chopper blades. Swim your way out.” Holding one’s breath is an understood directive.

Second dunk, “Locate a window or door and swim out through it.”

Third dunk, “Swim through a specific window or door.”

Fourth dunk, go blindfolded. “If you know these things, be blessed by doing them!” John 13:17

The only weapons satan has to dunk us into are affliction, persecution, cares of this world, pressures of other things and deceitfulness of riches Mark 4:17-19. “But God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. He will, also, provides a way of escape.” First Corinthians 10:13 Honoring God locates, defines and overcomes all these temptations! Holy Spirit illuminates the best exit!

When the devil can steal our faith in God, he moves in to kill our enthusiasm, vision and joy so he can destroy God’s Presence in the world through us. The devil lies to us about who God is and who we are in Christ (Messiah) Jesus. But, true riches of a Believer’s life are in recognizing Holy Spirit as teacher, leader and guide; Jesus as the Pattern to follow; Father as El Shaddai, all sufficiency. Your heart is not a gym or a recreation room. Holy Spirit came here to stay!

“Arise, Shine! Your Light has come! The glory of the Lord is risen upon you! His Glory will be seen upon you and the Gentiles will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your arising.” Isaiah 60:1-3
