Benish, Gamble Named to MAC Conference 1st Team

DALTON--Leyton's Lady Warrior Volleyball team, after a successful 27-6 season and a District Finals match, had a number of players named to the MAC All-conference team.

Junior setter Zaili Benish was named to the First Team. She compiled 386 assists, 65 Ace Serves and finished with a .243 Hitting Percentage. Junior outside hitter Shawnee Gamble was also named to the First Team, and she averaged 2.2 kills per set, 2.8 digs per set and had 57 Ace Serves in the season.

Senior middle hitter Claire Watchorn was named to the Second Team. Watchorn averaged 1.5 kills per set, had a .245 Hitting Percentage and had 45 Total Blocks in the season. Junior setter Sydney Fortune was named as an Honorable Mention, finishing with a .258 Hitting Percentage, 296 Assists and 16 total blocks on the year.

All-Conference selections for Football were scheduled to made on Tuesday night, November 28. We will report any Leyton selections in next week's Sun-Telegraph.
