Romero Fundraiser Serves a Variety of Soups, Prizes, and Closure

SIDNEY-- On Friday, February 16, a fundraiser was held in honor of Adam Romero, a long-time Sidney resident who had recently passed away. Friends and family members gathered in the Congregate Room at the Cheyenne County Community Center. A variety of soups were provided plus other delicious snacks. A silent auction was also held, with gifts donated by local companies like Pennington Seed, Western Drug and Dude's Steakhouse.

Romero's daughter Judy was the organizer of the event and was overwhelmed by the response of the community. She said, "Adam was such a giving man, and he would be so happy over the response of this event. He was the type of person that would be the organizer of an event for somebody else, and would most likely be the last person to think of himself. Even until his last day he was looking out for other people, and we're all so appreciative of the response from his friends and the Sidney community.

The money raised from the event will help to defray the costs of transporting Adam to San Antonio, Texas, so he can be buried next to his mother. Adam's family appreciates all of the kind wishes and support they have received through this trying time.
