Nebraska Department of Agriculture Announces Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

LINCOLN-- The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) has announced a rollout of the 2024 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). The NDA urges vendors whose market certification has expired or produce vendors who are looking to participate in the program for the first time to pre-register.

To begin the certification/recertification process, produce growers need to log in to their vendor profile on the Nebraska Farmers Market Online Database at http://www.ne.gov/go/producevendor. Growers will need their vendor ID and password, and if they do not know their ID, they need to contact Nolan Lemna, Agriculture Promotion Specialist at 402-471-6861 or at [email protected]. If they have forgotten their password, they should click on the Forgot Password link and a new password will be sent to the email listed in their profile.

Once logged in, click on the “View Certification Requirements” tab located in the upper right-hand portion of the screen and follow the onscreen instructions.

One of the requirements includes attending a webinar. Growers should select the webinar they would like to attend and click on the corresponding web-link to pre-register. If they are certifying for the first time, they will be assigned a new vendor number after they have successfully completed the certification process.

Webinar trainings last approximately one hour and require high-speed internet access. Computers will need sound to listen to the webinar. If using a smartphone to watch the webinar, growers should download the Cisco WebEx app through the Apple or Google Play stores. The meeting ID for each webinar is 2024. Webinar sign-in information will be provided when they pre-register. Pre-registration must be completed at least one day before the desired webinar begins.

The webinars are being held on these dates and times:

March 22, 2024 10 a.m., CT, March 26 2024, 5:30 p.m. CT, April 18, 2024 9 a.m. CT, and May 6 2024, 5:30 p.m. CT.
