The group was originally established in 1928 as the "Future Farmers of Virginia" at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA by founders Henry C. Groseclose, Harry Sanders, Walter Stephenson Newman, and Edmund Magill; headquarters for the organization remain in Alexandria, VA to this day.
