Norma J. Larson

Norma J. Larson, age 89, of Tucson, AZ, and formerly of Sidney, NE passed on February 8, 2024 in Tucson. A Graveside service will be held at the Potter Cemetery on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. in Potter, NE.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 1-6:00 P.M. to sign Norma's register book.

Norma Jean was born to Henry and Marie (Kihlthau) Schnell on January 9, 1935. The Schnell family moved to Sidney in 1944. She married Wayne Larson on November 13, 1954 in Las Vegas, NV. They lived on the family farms until his passing in 1982.

Norma had a wonderful singing voice and was asked to be the soloist at many weddings and funerals. She was a member of the Women's Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She served in many capacities for the W.E.LC.A. as well as Sunday School for several grade levels. She served in many positions in Women's clubs in the Potter area. She was especially fond of the clubs that she shared membership with her mother-in-law.

Norma is survived by her daughter Kay (William) Hayes and son Bruce Wayne (Mary Herboldsheimer) all of Tucson. AZ; her 5 grandsons Douglas Wayne Hayes of Billings MT, Michael William (Leah) Hayes of Madison, WI, Brandon John (Kayla) Baker of Tomball, TX, Rece Wayne Larson of Orlando, FL and Riley Joseph Larson of Spring Hill, FL, and sister-in-law Francis (Floyd) Schnell.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her daughter Monica Baker, her parents Henry and Marie Schnell, her mother and father-in-law Lila and Dewey Larson, brothers and sisters-in-law Lee Roy (Jacqueline) Schnell, Marvin (Dorothy)Schnell and Floyd Schnell, brothers-in-laws and sister-in-law Loran (Marge Case) Larson, Richard Lindauer, Edward Johnson.
