Lillian L. "Jeri" Belieu

Lillian L. (Jeri) Belieu, age 88 of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024 in Sidney, NE. Memorial services will begin with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sidney, NE with Father C.P. Varghese officiating. A cremation has been held. Services will conclude at the church. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1:00-6:00 P.M. to sign Jeri's book. Family will not be present. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for a later designation.

Jeri was the youngest daughter of Jack and Mildred Cochran, Jeri was born in Norborne, MO and moved to Sidney as a young child. She attended school and graduated from Sidney St. Patrick's High School. Following graduation, she attended college at the Mary Mount University of Kansas. She always had a deep devotion to the Catholic Faith. She then returned to Sidney and began teaching at a rural school west of Sidney. While in Sidney, Jeri met her husband of 65 years, Stanley Belieu. They were married on June 14, 1958 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. From this union, four children were born- Stanley Jr., Ann, Mike, and Nicky.

After a brief career as a teacher, Jeri stayed home to raise her young family. Jeri was an amazing homemaker and seamstress, she enjoyed making all kinds of crafts and had many talents. She especially enjoyed Christmas and collecting and displaying her Christmas decorations.

She treasured helping out in the family 7-Up Bottling Business. In her later years, she, along with Stan, participated in a consignment antique shop in Julesburg and really enjoyed finding and making unique treasures to sell at the shop but most of all they enjoyed the people they met and worked with.

The first priority in Jeri's life was her family. She was incredibly devoted to her children and grandchildren. Jeri was always the #1 fan of her grandchildren and spent considerable time traveling around and watching their activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stan of 66 years, parents, and sister Jackie.  

She is survived by children Stan Jr, and wife Anne of Sidney, Ann Fuchs and husband Rob of Columbus, NE, Mike Belieu and wife Julie of Kearney, NE, and Nicky Radcliffe and husband Burke of Sidney. Ten grandchildren, David Belieu and wife Molly of Gretna, Sarah Robinson and husband Ray of Sidney, Katy Belieu of Omaha, Hannah Curry and husband Jared of Ponca, Ryan Fuchs of Omaha, Ericka Belieu of Colorado Springs, Lauren Burns and husband Jake of Martinsville Indiana, Thomas Belieu and wife Samantha of Lincoln, Brady Radcliffe and wife Madi of Layton, UT, and Natalie Radcliffe of Omaha. Six great grandchildren: Jack, Madeline, Annie, Molly, Wesson and Millie.
