    It was a split vote Tuesday evening as the Sidney City Council approved 4-1 to modify the pay grid for city employees to reflect changes to minimum wage and keep the city comparable to surrounding area employers. Gordon was born July 7, 1922 on a farm south of Sunol to Hubert and Maude Glassburn. Six children blessed their marriage, which Gordon was the fifth child. As a teenager, his brothers and he broke horses for the Calvary at Fort Robinson during WWI and WWII.
