Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce Director Glenna Phelps-Aurich and Taylor Fortin participated in the annual tradition of pulling Sidney Sid (Sidney’s resident stuffed-groundhog) from his improvised tree stump this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Both Phelps-Aurich and Fortin saw Sid’s shadow, meaning just as if Punxsutawney Phil had seen his shadow, Sidney is bracing for six more weeks of winter according to national folklore. Just as in previous years a Groundhog Day drawing was hosted by both Larry’s Clothing Company and Imagine That for customers who guessed correctly on whether Sid would see his shadow or not. Larry’s clothing will award Gary Person a $25 gift certificate and Imagine That will be awarding Alice Chaon a $10 gift card for their correct guesses.
