Lewis, Flores lead strong Sidney contingent

Boys take second, girls fifth at Mitchell; Wintholz throws for personal best

The Red Raiders boys finished runners-up while the girls placed fifth at the Mitchell Invite on Thursday.

On the boys side, Sidney finished with 113 points to edge out Gering (111) for second place behind meet winner Alliance, at 144.

The girls fifth-place total of 49 points put them in the middle of the pack behind meet winner Mitchell (124), Gering (94), Torrington (62) and Alliance (58).

Logan Lewis was the biggest point gainer for the boys, while Jami Flores led the girls with her triumph in the pole vault. Lewis picked up 24 points in individual events and his anchor leg in the 4x100...
