Sidney edged out in opener

Following a long winter, mother nature must have been as anxious for baseball as the large crowd that gathered at Legion Field for opening day.

Although blue skies, warm temperatures and a stiff wind blowing in from center field seemd like a good way to start a season, both Sidney American Legion teams ended up just one run short on Sunday. McCook earned a pair of comeback wins as it toppled the juniors 4-3 and the seniors 3-2.
