Peetz runs past South Park, 46-6

The Peetz Bulldogs (2-2) handed the South Park Burros (2-1) their first loss of the season with a convincing 46-6 win Friday night at a neutral site in Deer Trail, Colo.

Junior Cody Wilson helped propel the offense as he rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries. Wilson also had a 40-yard touchdown reception. Jordan Nelson added two more touchdowns as he recorded his third consecutive 100-yard-plus rushing performance of the year.

He finished with 126 yards on 17 carries. Moot Wenneker had just two carries though one accounted for a 23-yard touchdown run.

Wilson had a big day on special teams also as he returned four punts for 80 yards including one for 35.

The strong Bulldogs' defensive effort was aided by Cole White's 10 tackles. Nelson and Gage Travis each brought down 10 Burros' ball carriers while Wolf Wenneker had six. Wenneker and freshman Bryson Long each had an interception.

The Bulldogs will be back on the same field next on Saturday when they face Deer Trail. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.

• OTHER ACTION: In other games Friday night involving local schools, Leyton lost to Wallace 32-14, and Potter-Dix fell to Paxton 62-16..
