Cruise selected as AP All-State second team libero

Seven local players named as honorable mention by Nebraska sports writers

A total of eight high school volleyball players from Cheyenne and Deuel counties have been named to the 2015 Associated Press Nebraska All-State volleyball teams.

Leyton senior Natalie Cruise, a libero for the Lady Warriors, took the highest honor of the eight after being named second team in Class D1.

During her senior season playing volleyball for the Lady Warriors, Cruise recorded 641 digs, 171 kills, 42 aces and 12 blocks.

Leyton finished the 2015 season with a 29-7 overall record and a 7-1 record in D1-12 competition. The season for the Lady Warriors ended back in November after a 3-2...
