Sidney 10U captures state title; on to regional play

Sidney's 10U Baseball team competed with some tough competition, to win the state championship game over North Platte with an 8-7 win. The team qualified to compete in the Regional tournament in Denver, CO July 20th-23rd. SCOTTSBLUFF - Sidney's 10 and under baseball team qualified for regional Cal Ripken tournament play over the weekend, capturing the Nebraska state championship with a come back win.

After handling Chadron and Gering 11-1 and 6-0 respectively, Sidney was up 5-3 entering the last inning against a tough North Platte team. North Platte scored four runs in the top of that sixth inning to take a 7-5 advantage into the final three outs.

Sidney battled back with hot bats, stringing a pair of base hits with a double to tie the score and assure at least one more inning.
