Robb Takes Third Place At State

Sidney junior Brady Robb wrestled his way to a third place finish in the 170 lb division in the competitive Class B bracket at the NSAA State Tournament on Saturday.

Sidney sent seven wrestlers to the state tournament, but only Robb came away with a medal. Senior Jacob Peckham lost an overtime match by fall, but gave it his all, breaking a rib during the final match. Although only Robb made it to the final round, look for Sidney to return a group of wrestlers to the State Tournament as the Raiders are loaded with strong underclass talent.

Sidney Head Coach Beau McConnell commented on the team's performance, saying, "I was pleased with how all seven wrestled throughout the tournament. They showed a lot of guts and grit in each match. With the level of competition at the state tournament, wins don't come easy but the our boys fought hard in every bout."
