Linda Lee (Gade) Helfrich - Obituary

Linda Lee (Gade) Helfrich, 72, of Littleton, Colorado passed away on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at her home following an extensive illness.

Cremation has taken place and due to the COVID-19 virus, a service will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be made directly to the donor's charity of choice to help with the COVID-19 crisis.

Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory in Lakewood, Colorado is serving the Helfrich family.

Linda was born on February 4, 1948 in Sidney, Nebraska to Clinton and Velma Gade of Sunol. She was baptized at the Lodgepole United Methodist Church. Linda grew up in Sunol and received her education in the Sunol and Lodgepole schools. She attended college at Chadron State.

Linda married Joseph Helfrich on September 9, 1967, making their home in Colorado. They were parents to one son, Jeffrey A. Helfrich.

Linda had an impressive career with State Farm Insurance as a claims adjuster, traveling around the country to assist with various disasters nationwide. She retired from State Farm Insurance after many years of dedicated service.

Linda was a very enthusiastic person with a one-of-a-kind personality. Most will agree she was the "life" of every celebration.

Growing up, she enjoyed dance lessons and recitals. She barrel-raced her favorite horses and adopted many animals over the years. She was an avid Nebraska Husker and Elvis fan, enjoyed flower gardening, and will be remembered for her generous heart.

She is survived by her husband Joe; son, Jeff and wife Shawna of HoodRiver, Oregon; grandchildren, Mazzy Lee and Conrad Joseph; mother, Velma Gade of Sunol; sister, Marcy (Mark) Jones of Oshkosh; brother, Greg Gade of Lewellen; and numerous family members including special aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding her in death were her father, Clinton Gade; sister Denise Gade; sister-in-law, Peggy Gade; her grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
