Anthony J. Ramirez, age 61, of Lodgepole, NE passed away Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO on Monday, October 5, 2020. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney, NE. Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery north of Lodgepole, NE. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Monday, October 19 from 1-6:00 P.M. to sign Anthony’s register book and leave condolences for the family. Family will be present from 4-6:00 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to the Anthony J. Ramirez Estate account at Security First Bank, 1205 Jackson Street, Sidney, NE 69162.

Anthony Joe Ramirez was born May 10, 1959 in Sidney, NE to Tom and Ruby (Guadalupe Barron) Ramirez. He attended school in Lodgepole. Anthony moved to Denver and worked at the Friendship House taking care of troubled teens and held a manager position overseeing staff. He also worked at Craig Hospital, where he found his niche for helping people in the rehab center. Anthony loved his life in Denver, but as his parents were aging, he moved back to Lodgepole to take care of them. Anthony loved to write and had a green thumb. If he wasn’t tending to his garden and his pets, he was making his mom’s famous enchiladas. Anthony will be remembered for his huge smile, contagious laugh, and always willing to help those in need.

Anthony is survived by his goddaughter: Haellie Houser and her two sons Kai and Keaton Speer of Sidney, NE; nieces: Autumn Ramirez of Sidney, NE and Tia Ramirez of Portland, OR; nephews: Chris Petri, of Sidney, NE and Thomas Adams of Arapahoe, NE; brother: Andy and wife Shelly Ramirez of Denver, CO; sister: Benita and husband Merle Adams of Arapahoe, NE and numerous extended family members. Anthony is preceded in death by his parents: Tom and Ruby Ramirez; sister-in-law: Jayne From; nephew: Jeremy Ramirez as well as many other relatives.
