Creek Valley’s Storm Basketball teams traveled to Colorado on Saturday to match up against the Peetz Bulldog Basketball teams in their COVID-19 delayed season.

The girls’ game started as a defensive struggle, with both teams struggling to score and tied at 7-to-7 at the end of the first period. The Lady Storm got their offense going in the second period and opened a 24-to-15 lead at the half. A big third quarter for the visitors iced the game, and the Lady Storm pulled away for a 62-to-43 victory on the road. Freshman Ella Whiting scored 16 points and had 10 rebounds for the double-double in the victory.

In the boys’ game, the two teams traded scores throughout the first half, and went into the halftime break knotted at 24-to-24. But the Storm had a big third quarter, scoring 29 points against the Bulldog’s 20 to build a lead they wouldn’t relinquish, adding on 13 more points in the fourth quarter to come away with the 66-to-46 victory. Senior Oakley Hodges led the scoring with 24 points, and sunk four three pointers in the victory. Both Peetz teams remain winless at 0-and-4 on the year.

The Lady Bulldogs had a tough time against the Briggsdale Lady Falcons on Friday, getting overpowered 28-to-2 in the first quarter on their way to a 70-to-7 defeat while the boy’s squad also fell behind early and were unable to close the gap against the Falcons en route to a 64-to-43 defeat on Friday. The Bulldogs were scheduled to face off against the Potter-Dix Coyote teams on Tuesday.
