Dangerously Cold Weather in the Forecast

Forecasters with the National Weather Service are predicting continuing severe cold and snow for the next week for the Cheyenne County area. Through the week before Christmas, temperatures are predicted to stay well below normal, with an especially brutal string of below zero temperatures overnight starting Wednesday night.

Another round of snow was forecast for Wednesday night into Thursday accompanied by 50+ mph wind gust. Accumulation predictions very between 1-5 inches, but the gusting wind could make conditions more severe.

Warmer temperatures are expected on Saturday and Christmas Day this week, with Sunday's high forecasted at 49 degrees. For next week, temperature highs should range from 45 through 55 degrees. High for New Year's Eve is expected to be 42 degrees.
