    For much of the past week Sidney residents have worked to help provide for the needs of Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey. Spearheaded by Sidney VFW Post 610, Adams Trucking and Sidney Public Schools, local residents have responded with food, water, clothing and other items needed by hurricane victims.     A final piece of the puzzle in the sale of Cabela’s was put into place Wednesday. That piece, the approval by the federal regulators for a Georgia bank to acquire Cabela’s banking operation, was announced Wednesday. In an SEC filing, Cabela’s reported the Federal Reserve approved the sale of Worl’s Foremost Bank to Georgia-based bank Synovus, which will keep $1.2 billion in deposits but resell the credit card business to Capital One.     Light Memorial Presbyterian Church is celebrating its 100th anniversary Sunday. The Sidney church was formed Aug. 17, 1917, but wasn't voted into the Presbytery of Box Butte until Sept. 11, 1917, Jane Easterly, church board member, said.   • Sidney's Feddersen charged with robbery, assault

    Jackson G. Feddersen, 18, was arrested Sept. 1 and charged with robbery, first degree assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, second degree assault and burglary, all Class II felonies, and strangulation and terroristic threats, both Class III felonies. Feddersen is being held on $250,000 bond.     Sidney's Lady Raiders gave the home town crowd a treat in their home opener Tuesday, using a powerful net game to notch a straight-set, 25-14, 25-22, 25-15 win over Mitchell. Sidney opened up a quick lead in the first set, surging ahead 11-6 before Mitchell used its first timeout to try and stem the tide.
