Potter-Dix, Creek Valley advance in D2-12 SubDistrict play

The Creek Valley Lady Storm and Potter-Dix Coyotoes met Tuesday night to decide the winner of the D2-12 volleyball subdistrict tournament Tuesday.

The tournament opened with Minatare facing Banner. That match went four sets with Minatare claiming three of the four sets for a win: 24-26, 25-15, 25-21 and 26-24.

The second game was just as tough with Leyton and Creek Valley facing off. Creek Valley won the match in three sets, but not without some impressive volleys often ending in who made a mistake. Creek Valley defeated Leyton in what could be called a post-season grudge match 25-15, 28-26 and 25-14.. Creek Valley defeated Leyton twice in the regular season.

Potter-Dix then entered the court following Creek Valley’s win to face Minatare. The Coyotes of Potter-Dix defeated Minatare in three straight sets: 25-15, 25-8 and 25-11.

Potter-Dix’s top performers Monday night were Payge Hoffman, senior, with 10 kills, senior Audrey Juelfs with eight and senior Trinity Langley with seven. The team also delivered 12 serve aces, lead by Langley with four, Juelfs with three and junior Brooke Moench with two.

Potter-Dix entered Tuesday’s winners circle with an 8-1 record and Creek Valley is sporting a 6-1 record.
