Karen L. Langley

Karen L. Langley, age 75, of Sidney, NE passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Faith Methodist Church in Sidney, NE with Pastor Corey Jenkins officiating. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website. Cremation, and inurnment at the Greenwood Cemetery, will take place at a later date.   Family will host a viewing and friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt funeral home on Sunday from 4:00-6:00 P.M. and leave condolences. Memorials can be made in care of Larry Langley, 1344 24th Avenue, Sidney, NE, 69162 for future designation to be established by the family.

Karen was born August 30th 1947 in Sidney, NE.  She was the oldest of two children and the daughter of George and Betty Richards.  She was raised in Sidney and lived there most of her life.  She graduated from Sidney High School with the class of 1965.  On August 8th, 1965, Karen was united in marriage to Larry Langley at the United Methodist Church in Sidney.  Together they shared 57 years of marriage.   

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved gardening, traveling, genealogy, and spending time with family.    She will be missed dearly and is survived by her husband Larry of Sidney; her children:  Nina Loos and husband Rick of McCook, NE, Brett Langley and wife Kim of Sidney, NE, Trisha Ludeman and husband John of Cedar Falls, IA, and Nikki Shoemaker and husband Shawn of Potter, NE; granddaughters:  Whitney Loos of McCook, NE; Karson Roach and husband Brenan of Sidney, NE; Paige Langley of Lincoln, NE; Ryen, Drew, and Briar Ludeman of Cedar Falls, IA; Jayden, Kenzie, Alexa, and Krickett Shoemaker of Potter, NE; and step-grandchildren Matt Loos and wife Nikki of Greeley, CO and Megan Scanlon and husband Paul of Greeley, CO; great-granddaughter Langley Roach of Sidney, NE; brother: Randy Richards and wife Leslie of Sidney, NE and many extend family members and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother Rudine Richards.
